Marshmallows roasting, hot dogs, burgers, salads, not to mention fun, swinging, and nature walks; did we have a good time? you bet!  more 2008 picnic photos       August 28, 2008 was the first day Instructor Bret Spoehr taught the Juniors and Little Tigers since he has graduated from Florida State and come to our dojang.    June 13, 2008 saw the junior class testing for their next belt ranks. These students did well in front of their parents and other guests. Click for  more test photos       June 12, 2008 we had a visit once more from SaBum Nim Bret Spoehr, who heads the HRD/TSD Club of Florida State University. The Little Tiger and Junior students enjoyed SaBum Nim's drills, games, and avoidance techniques.       April 11, 2008 was a color belt test day. The orange belt's first sparring went well against his adult opponent.     February, 2008, was the blue belt test for some of the students. Congratulations on reaching Sa Kub. It was great having Patricia here from Hawaii. Click here to see more pictures.      The end of year tests were held  December 7, 2007. Juniors and a Little Tiger tested for orange and yellow belts. Congratulations to you on your new ranks. There are more 2007 pictures here.       August 3, 2007 was the first Hwa Rang Do/Tae Soo Do family picnic, held at Alpine Creek Park in Switzerland. We ate, drank, played, hiked, and of course talked and got better acquainted. Students, families and friends came together for an evening we all thoroughly enjoyed. There are more 2007 picnic pictures here.        June 22, 2007 we held color belt tests at both dojangs. Jeshua is home from FSU for the summer, and we enjoy having him here. The Junior students were supported by all their classmates and parents. See more photos here.      May  25, 2007 was test day #8 at Hwa Rang Do of Jacksonville. Three students earned their orange belts, and it was a first for us to have all female students testing.    May 17, 2007 was a class day. The Little Tigers spent time learning to hold the kicking pad for each other. It was quite a feat, to hold a pad almost as large as oneself and keep it steady while facing a chop kick.  More photos are here.       April 30, 2007 was the 7th test day. The Little Tigers tested for yellow belt, and are proud of the fine job they did. Parents and family members came to support them. The next group of BBC adults tested and received their green belts. Congratulations to everyone. There are more photos here.     April, May 2007  regular class training   December, 2006 December 6 was our fifth test date. Several students advanced in rank. See more from this test here.      SaBum Nim Spoehr joined the Jacksonville classes, and worked with the Little Tigers and Juniors. We look forward to his return visits! Kegan tested solo and earned his orange belt. See more pictures here.      October, 2006 Our third test was a special one, not only for those students who earned their new ranks, but also for the Dojang: our Little Tigers and Juniors tested for the first time. See more pictures here.   September, 2006 We've welcomed the McConnell, Markey, and Lowman families into the Jacksonville dojang, along with several individual students whose parents help form our extended Hwa Rang Do family. The photos below are the second test held at the dojang. Bret Spoehr was guest instructor for the students in Jacksonville.   The Juniors had a grand time, playing different games, learning new basics and frog leaps! JoKyo Nim Sid Spoehr joined SaBum Nim Spoehr at the judges bench, and the class of one did a great job. It is not easy to test alone, and have two judges watching your every move! JoKyo Nim Sid Spoehr greets a visiting student who drove over an hour to come support Hwa Rang Do! Jeff and Andres show the loyalty we value so highly.
