FOUNDER Supreme Grandmaster, Dr. Joo Bang Lee, is the
founder of Hwa Rang Do®, and
the director of the Academy at the World Headquarters in Downey The students of Hwa Rang Do around the world respect Supreme Grandmaster for his dedication to the art and to the principles upon which it is founded. CA. At an early age he began learning the skills of the ancient
Hwarang warriors from the monk Suahm Dosa in the mountains
of Korea. Supreme Grandmaster (DoJoo Nim) understood the great
value these skills would have for the general public, for not
only are they comprehensive, but through continued training an
individual will develop strength of body, mind, and spirit. So, in
1960 DoJoo Nim founded the martial art identity of Hwa Rang Do , based
on the ancient skills his Master taught, which had been handed down
from Master to student for 58 generations.
